Whistle Post Brewing opens

Whistle Post Brewing opened this past weekend with a grand opening celebration at their facility in Pilot Point. Located about 30 miles north of Denton, Whistle Post is the venture of entrepreneurs John Straits and Evan Batt, both with experience working for alcohol distributors, and head brewer Blake Morrison, formerly of Cedar Creek Brewing.

The new brewery is directly adjacent to Western Son Distillery, also owned by Straits and Batt. Producers of whiskey and flavored vodkas, Western Son originally opened in Carrollton in 2011, moving to Pilot Point in 2015 after outgrowing its first location.
