Nine Band Brewing opens
The first microbrewery in Allen, Nine Band Brewing, debuted with a grand opening celebration over the weekend. Owner Keith Ashley opened the craft brewery with brewers Jack Sparks, an award-winning brewer from Big Horn Brewing, and Mike Kraft, formerly of Lagunitas Brewing and the now defunct TwoRows Restaurant & Brewery. Van Gilder joins Texas Ale Project
Dallas’ Texas Ale Project hired Jason van Gilder as their new lead brewer in February, replacing original brewer Jan Matysiak. Van Gilder brings several years of local experience to the position with brewing duties at both Rahr & Sons Brewing and Lakewood Brewing within the past decade.
