Frisco City Grainworks folds

Frisco City Grainworks abandoned plans for development of their production brewery in Frisco after primary investors withdrew support. Brewer Jonny Daylett left the project in August, and owner David Clark has no immediate plans to pursue further development of the brewery.

Audacity Brew House opens

Audacity Brew House opened in an industrial park in Denton with a grand opening celebration this weekend. A local UNT graduate, owner Scott Lindsey hired Doug Smith as his head brewer, a former brewer at Colorado’s Fort Collins Brewery.

Bearded Eel Craft Brewery opens

Bearded Eel Craft Brewery opened in far north Fort Worth in early October. Owners and brewers B.J. and Becky Burnett built the tiny commercial brewery in an industrial park but hope to eventually move from their current location to a rural farmhouse setting.

Independent Ale Works closes

Independent Ale Works of Krum ceased production in August and has now closed, according to a statement posted on their Facebook account. Owners and brewers Stefen Windham and David Miller opened Independent Ales in March 2013 as a business experiment to see how far their pilot project could proceed without outside funding.
