Dallas’ Texas Ale Project hired Jason van Gilder as their new lead brewer in February, replacing original brewer Jan Matysiak. Van Gilder brings several years of local experience to the position with brewing duties at both Rahr & Sons Brewing and Lakewood Brewing within the past decade.
The Texas Ale Project opened in Dallas’ Design District in mid November. Founders Brent Thompson and Kat Stevens hired German native and Weihenstephan graduate Jan Matysiak, formerly of Austin’s Live Oak Brewing and Brooklyn’s Sixpoint Brewing, as their head brewer. Texas Ale Project was formerly known during development as Reunion Brewing Company.
